1. About this Website

The SCIANCE/RAISE Hub (“the Website” or “Hub”) provides information about the SCIANCE project, the RAISE initiative and their related activities, results, events and opportunities.

2. Use of the Website

You may access and use the Website for lawful informational, research, educational and professional purposes.

You must not:

  • Use the Website in violation of applicable law or the rights of others;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website or its supporting systems;
  • Interfere with the security, availability or operation of the Website;
  • Introduce malicious software or other harmful material;
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with SCIANCE, RAISE, EGI Foundation, the European Commission or any project partner; or
  • Use the Website’s content in a misleading manner or in a way that suggests endorsement where none has been given.

3. Intellectual property and licensing

Unless otherwise indicated, all content produced by the SCIANCE project and published on the Website is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence.

When reusing licensed content, you must provide appropriate attribution, include a link to the licence, indicate whether changes have been made and distribute adapted material under the same or a compatible licence.

The Creative Commons licence does not automatically apply to:

  • Project names, logos and trademarks;
  • European Union names, emblems and visual identity;
  • Photographs, illustrations, videos and other media credited to third parties;
  • Personal data;
  • Software, datasets or publications subject to separate licences;
  • Content submitted by members of the community; or
  • Other material identified as being subject to separate rights or restrictions.

You are responsible for checking the licensing or copyright information accompanying individual items before reusing them. Nothing in these Terms grants permission to use a name, logo, trademark or emblem in a way that suggests an official relationship or endorsement.

4. RAISE Community Forum and content submissions

Content proposed for publication on the Hub is collected through the RAISE Community Forum. The submission and management of such content, including any related personal data, are governed by the Forum’s separate Terms of Use, Privacy Notice and Community Guidelines.

These Terms apply only to use of the Hub. Once submitted content is selected and published on the Hub, its use and reuse are subject to the licensing or copyright information displayed with that content.

Submission through the Forum does not guarantee publication on the Hub. The SCIANCE/RAISE team may review, edit, decline, remove or update submitted content in accordance with the Forum’s applicable terms and editorial procedures.

5. Accuracy and availability

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information published on the Website is accurate and up to date. However, project activities, events, services, funding opportunities and other information may change.

The Website and its content are provided for general informational purposes. They do not constitute legal, financial, scientific or other professional advice. Where an official call, programme, contract or European Commission document applies, the corresponding official document takes precedence over information published on the Website.

We do not guarantee that the Website will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors. We may modify, suspend or remove parts of the Website when reasonably necessary, including for maintenance, security or content updates.

6. External websites and services

The Website may contain links to external websites and services, including the RAISE Community Forum and RAISE Observatory, project partner websites and third-party resources.

These external services may have their own terms of use and privacy notices. EGI Foundation and the SCIANCE project do not control and are not responsible for the availability, content, security or privacy practices of   external websites.

A link from the Hub to an external resource does not necessarily constitute endorsement of that resource or its operator.

7. Generative artificial intelligence

Generative artificial intelligence systems may be used to assist in preparing some Website content, including text or images. AI-assisted materials are reviewed by a member of the project team before publication.

The use of generative AI does not affect the licensing or attribution requirements associated with Website content. Where appropriate, additional information about the use of AI may be provided with the relevant material.

8. Privacy and personal data
Personal data collected through or in connection with the Website is processed as described in the Website’s Privacy Notice.

The RAISE Community Forum is governed by its own Privacy Notice and related policies.

9. Reporting concerns

If you believe that content published on the Website:

  • Infringes your copyright or other rights;
  • Contains inaccurate or misleading information;
  • Discloses personal or confidential information improperly; or
  • Is unlawful or otherwise inappropriate, please contact us at info@sciance.eu, identifying the relevant content and explaining your concern. We will review the request and take appropriate action where necessary.

10. Responsibility and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, EGI Foundation, acting on behalf of the SCIANCE project is not responsible for loss or damage resulting solely from reliance on general information published on the Website, temporary unavailability of the Website or the content and operation of independently managed external websites.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits responsibility where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Website, project activities, applicable law or our operating arrangements.

The current version will be published on this page with its most recent revision date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Website or other appropriate project channels.

12. Applicable law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without affecting any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable national or European Union law.

Any dispute relating to the Website should first be raised with EGI Foundation using the contact details provided above. Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be handled by the competent courts in accordance with applicable law.
