This session focuses on the development of RAISE (Resource for AI Science in Europe) and the European AI in science ecosystem. It will present early developments from the RAISE pilot phase, including insights from the SCIANCE coordination project on European AI in science landscape, community engagement and co-creation activities. The session also discusses strategic priorities for RAISE, including scientific and AI research challenges, governance models, and long-term sustainability.

Connecting the AI-in-Science ecosystem in Europe
Overview of the RAISE pilot developments, including initial outputs from the SCIANCE coordination project on the AI in science landscape analysis and the introduction of the RAISE Digital Hub and RAISE Forum as the central community and consultation platform for European AI in Science ecosystem. Presentation of community engagement opportunities, the RAISE Community Challenge Lab and next steps to help identify strategic priorities for RAISE.

On 15 and 16 October 2026, the AI in Science Summit 2026 (AIS26), organised by the European Commission and the Irish Presidency of the Council, will take place in Dublin, Ireland.
In July 2026, SCIANCE is featured in the ERCIM News special theme issue ‘E-values: Statistical Testing for the 21st Century’
SCIANCE has concluded its call for experts for the AI in Science Working Groups (AISWG). Out of 665 applicants, 150 experts were selected.
The SCIANCE consortium has been positively evaluated and invited to enter Horizon Europe grant preparation, with Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva highlighting its key role in supporting the development and coordination of RAISE through a community-driven, bottom-up approach.
